Meeting Summary
Date: April 27, 2009

1. Harris County Community Services represented by Christy Lambright and Ellen Seaton briefed the GHLTRC Steering Community about their scope for services. In addition to the service listed below. HC CSD is also tasked with the oversight of CDBG (Ike) funds allocated for housing. RFPs will be released for this funding. The Steering Committee has requested that the HC CSD continue a dialogue with the Case Mgmt and Repair and Rebuild committees.

2. Bernard Scrogin also echoed the need for an open dialogue with HC & COH regarding the CDBG funds as the project nears a summer launch date. He noted that guidelines for disaster CDBG funds are more flexible than the other CDBG guidelines but that some areas are not utilizing the disaster CDBG guidelines.


3. Work Group Reports

• Case Management – Dave is still hopeful for a early May start for the Case Mgmt Pilot
• Repair & Rebuild – Amanda reported that in the last R&R meeting that policies and procedures was the focus and that April 28 meeting will be focused on case presentations.
• Spiritual and Mental Health - Saliha updated the committee that approximately 4 agencies will be applying for small $5,000 grants for mental health. The Spiritual and Mental Health subcommittee continues to lack spiritual health leadership
• Volunteer Management – Nothing new to report
• Donations & Warehouse – Linda W. reports that she has materials available from area Lowes and that will provide the committee and R&R group a list of those materials and the application to submit requests for those materials.

4. Other Business and Announcements
