Meeting Summary
Date: June 8, 2009

1. Workgroup reports
• Case Management – Dave reported that the most recent case management workgroup meeting on June 3 was well attended. The Repair and Rebuild committee presented their policies and procedures. The Case Management resource fair will be on June 23 at 2:30 at United Way in the CRC.

• Repair & Rebuild - Amanda reported about the updates to the R&R policy and procedures including funding process, weekly process reports, referring clients to repair/rebuild, home repair assessment and home repair/rebuild process checklist.

• Spiritual & Mental Health Care – Sue reported that DePelchin, Family Services, Houston Galveston Institute, and Asian American Family Services will receive funding to provide mental health services. Asian American Family Services is new to the Mental Health Workgroup and will assist in filling unmet needs for the populations they serve. Sue also reported that these agencies would be at the June 23 Resource Fair.

• Volunteer Management – Carrie reported that the VRD is exploring new sources for skilled volunteers. Carrie also had been looking at other state’s collaboration processes between volunteer management and case management agencies. A follow up meeting was set up between the VRD & NCI to discuss further.

• Donations Management - Linda Walker was not in attendance

2. Harris County Community Services
• Ms. Lambright reported that with the CDBG funds HCCSD has contracted with CDM construction and will be focusing on owner occupied homes in the unincorporated portions of Harris County that have been catastrophically damaged and or destroyed. HCCSD hope to have the application for applicants available for GHLTRC review by June 30. HCCSD also hope to launch a website by August 1st and start services by September 1st.

3. Resource Fair
• June 23, 2:30 – 4:30 pm at the United Way. The fair is designed to contact case managers to client resources and the agencies who provide them.

• Steering Committee – June 22, 10 am at the United Way
• Repair and Rebuild—June 23, 9 am at the United Way
• Resource Fair – June 23, 2:30 pm at the United Way
• GHLTRC At Large – July 9, 2:30 pm at the United Way
