Greater Houston Long Term Recovery Committee
Repair and Rebuild Work Group

Meeting Summary
January 20, 2009

1. Work Group Activities and Accomplishments since the Last Meeting:

Meeting Notes Approved for Jan. 13 meeting
For Jan 24 Work Day, Breakfast has been arranged through Linda Walker and the Salvation Army. Lunch has been arranged by LINC’s Gwen Franke

2. Highlights of Meeting Discussion:

Materials will be ordered, if they are procured through Linda Walker and the Donations Committee, they will be stored for use on another date or another case.

Volunteer numbers are short.

Core will be shutting down at the end of Feb.

Hope World Wide has notified Volunteer Houston they would like to be involved.

Jennifer Posten stated that some churches have been identified for possible volunteer camps.

A Spring Break Blitz is still possible but needs many skilled volunteers to be pulled off.


3. Support and / or action needed from another group, Steering Committee or the LTR Committee:


Volunteer Houston to try to procure more volunteers.

Supplies to be ordered for Work Day through Mark L and Mark J.

Mark and Eddie to work on Policies of the R and R committee.



4. Barriers and / or concerns:

Can we get enough volunteers to complete three roofs?

Will we have enough skilled volunteers for Blitz?
