Introductions of attendees
Membership Needs discussed and included elder care during a
disaster.
A subcommittee for the homeless was suggested
Technology is not in all homes.
211 is a resource for networking the needs with a resource
for help
Membership lists versus networking lists. All attendees will
get the VOAD disaster emails.
Those who attend regularly are on the networking list and
will be sent non disaster emails and it will be up to them to distribute those
emails.
National Hurricane Conference was discussed
The predictions are that El Nino ends in August creating the
possibility of a busy storm season.
Janette Walker
with Fort Bend County
gave a presentation of the EOC
there.
They would like to network with local partners to better
serve their area.
A subcommittee for Fort Bend County will be formed in our VOAD.
Dues are $25 and this allows you to become a voting member
of our VOAD for the year.
DHAP Ike extended through Halloween according to FEMA VAL Jennifer Hulik.
Stan Edde with the Houston Food Bank described their new
location and asked for volunteers.
Sept 11 South Park Civic Center will host a health fair in Edgewood Park
from 10 to 2. They need help with donations and volunteers. 713.734.3863
Oil Spill LTRC possible.
June 5 10 to 2 NCI
will do an outreach event for Ike Victims

subject line to the executive committee members so that it will not be overlooked.

The Summer will be busy for most of us, so please remember
VOAD meetings. We still need everyone’s involvement.
