Haiti Update

There is a FEMA acronym book. Jennifer Hulik will work on getting these if she can.

Agency needs:

NCI needs blood pressure cuffs

Rolan asks that you work with your development department prior to bringing needs before the group.

Zee Medical should be contacted on this.

 

Lakewood has the LOVE program which is post Ike disaster program. They are reaching out to agency partners for a mass feeding. Contact them at 713.715.9005.

Gateway of Care is running out of space. They need a small conference room to run their phone bank out of. Contact them at 713.783.7146.

FDIC acts a resource provider to those agencies who need them in disaster time.

 

FEMA can only come in during declared disasters. The state Val is Anna Tangredi and the FEMA contact for region VI is Jamie Dake

 

Fort Bend County is in need of resources for disaster time.

Fort Bend County is a non evacuation county and a pass through county for evacuation. However, there are needs after disaster, just as there are from Ike.

They would like to see a VOAD presence.

 

Harris County Community Services has a Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

CERT Rodeo update:

467 attendees

267 participant teams

There were 4 CERT team groups

 

GHLTRC Meetings will now be every other month. Next one will be April 1, at 2:30 at the United Way of Greater Houston.

 

Update on the High Track Program and NCI.

They can take clients until July 31, 2010.
